What sets you apart from other photographers?
I reeeeally like working with kids. Like, SO much. I do my absolute best to keep my clients and their kiddos engaged and involved during their session. My family sessions are play-based with very few posed "look here and smile" moments. With years of experience under my belt, I know how to work with the most stubborn of little ones (and let's be honest, the preteens who would rather be literally anywhere other than having family photos done) to make the experience as painless and -- dare I say it, fun?! -- as possible! I promise to get everyone smiling and laughing (genuinely, at that) during those candid moments.
Oh, yeah - and I have no shame, y'all. I will make animal noises & fart sounds & sing at the top of my lungs, whatever it takes to get those giggles a'coming! So many of my clients message me on the way home to let me know their kiddos wouldn't stop talking about how much fun they had! (it's a guarantee my airplane game WILL win over all the preschool age kids. a guarantee.)
How long do we have to wait to see our photos?
One of the things I truly pride myself on is my lighting-fast turn around time! I do my absolute best to get sneak peeks up on my Facebook page within 24 hours after your session. While my contracts state I have up to two weeks to deliver your completed gallery, 99.99% of the time my clients have their fully edited gallery back within 1 week. Industry standard is 2 to 4+ weeks and I promise you'll never have to wait near that long to see the beautiful art we made at your session!
**PS - please be assured that I never compromise quality for speed when editing, nor do I hire out any portion of my work -- all of my galleries are hand edited by me 100% of the time!
When is the best time to schedule our session?
It is never too early to get on my calendar. Fall & Spring weekend sunset time slots fill up early in the year, so please be sure to allow plenty of time when scheduling your session. Most repeat clients schedule their sessions at least one season prior to the date they are hoping for!
Also -- as you might already know, I am a birth photographer. My birth clients are my absolute, utmost priority. If I have a client go into labor, we will need to reschedule. There is never a fee for rescheduling due to my birth clients OR inclement weather.
How does booking a session work?
1. Fill out Contact Form
Give me a shout via the Contact tab here on the website. Let me know what kind of session you are interested in booking and give me all the details of your vision for your session! I will reach out and get all your questions answered & then we will get a date scheduled for your session.
2. Sign Contract
After your session date has been selected, I will send you your contract to fill out. You will also receive an invoice for your session fee. The deposit amount will vary depending on what kind of session you are booking. Most of my sessions (other than births - I handle those a bit different, read more HERE) require a 50% deposit to reserve your date & time on my calendar, with the remaining balance being due 5 days prior to your session date. Your contract has all kinds of important info - your social media sharing preferences and all that 'ol fine print goodness (sorry in advance for the boring read, I blame my attorney!).
3. It's Photo Day!
Yay! The moment we've all been waiting for! Your session date is here! I can't wait to meet you and capture so many amazing moments for your family. The morning of your session we will touch base if the weather doesn't look promising, otherwise plan to see me at the time we initially scheduled. If your session is at my studio, you will arrive and have the opportunity to browse the client closet and try on a few outfits until you find the perfect one. We will shoot your session (most last around 45 minutes) and wrap up.
4. Photos & Prints
If you selected the option to allow social media sharing on your contract, I will get some sneak peeks posted for you right away. Typically, these are posted the evening of your session or the following day. I will have your full gallery delivered to you oh-so soon! My contract says up to two weeks, but I do my absolute very best to get them back to you within just a few days.
You will receive your images in an online digital gallery format. You save them directly to your computer - easy peasy, lemon squeezy!
